Preparing RetentionRail…
RetentionRail
April 2026 was our biggest shipping month since launch. Three major features are now in production: competitor Monthly Active Reach (MAR) tracking, redesigned cross-platform retention curves, and the agency multi-creator dashboard.
Monthly Active Reach (MAR) is the metric we use to measure how many unique viewers a creator reaches in a given month across all platforms. Previously, RetentionRail tracked MAR for your own channels. Starting April 2026, you can track estimated MAR for any creator you add to your competitor watchlist.
MAR is a more useful competitive benchmark than subscriber count because it reflects actual reach in the current period, not historical accumulation. A creator with 2 million subscribers and 180,000 MAR is performing very differently from a creator with 800,000 subscribers and 620,000 MAR.
📊 How we estimate competitor MAR: We analyze publicly available engagement signals, upload frequency, estimated view distributions, and platform-reported metrics to triangulate MAR estimates. These are approximations, not exact figures, and should be used for directional comparison.
The old retention curve view showed one platform at a time. The new view overlays your retention curves across YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram Reels in a single chart, normalized to video length so they're directly comparable. You can filter by date range, video topic, or video length.
The most-requested addition was the baseline band — a shaded range showing your personal historical average ± one standard deviation. Any curve outside that band is automatically flagged as an outlier, both positive and negative. This makes it immediately obvious which videos performed unusually well or poorly without requiring manual comparison.
The agency dashboard is a completely new view designed for talent managers, MCN operators, and agencies managing multiple creator accounts. Instead of switching between individual creator dashboards, the agency view aggregates key metrics across your entire roster into a single scrollable view.
Each creator card shows their current-month retention average vs. personal baseline, their top- and bottom-performing video of the month, MAR trend (up/down/flat), and any metric that has dropped more than 10% below their baseline — surfaced automatically as an alert.
We're working on two features currently in beta. The first is AI-generated retention summaries — a plain-language explanation of why your retention curve looks the way it does for a given video, with specific change recommendations. The second is Snapchat analytics integration, which will complete our core four-platform coverage.
If you want early access to either feature, you can join the beta waitlist from your account settings. Both are on track for May release.
Connect your channels and get second-by-second retention analytics across every platform.
